Risky Business

This blog started out as a step by step process.  To get the best benefit, go back to the February 2011 posts and start with "Set Yourself Free".  So very glad you stopped by.

What do you consider risky?  A lot of people put money into mutual funds thinking it is a safe choice.  I have put some time into learning a little about investing and the stock market.   I am by no means an expert, but I was shocked to learn that when you put your money into investment programs, they use all of your money, your cut of the gains is only about 25%.  The investment company keeps the other 75% which you don't know about and then often charge a commision or maintenance fee for keeping up with your account.  Over a year you might have increased your investment by what?  6% on a good year?  You say you are not a risk taker?
You've just put up your money that you get no immediate reward from with no guarantee that your money is going to make a profit or even stay above a loss.  Your risk is huge, the investment company's risk is 0.  I've climbed out of that box and found a better, much less risky way to invest my money.  I used my list as the map.
